Dear Parents & carers
On behalf of the children, staff, Governors and The Good Shepherd Trust, I would like to welcome you to St John’s Church of England Primary School. We hope you find our website clear, informative and easy to navigate. It is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life of our school, the work of our pupils and the quality education we strive to deliver.
Our Ofsted Inspection in September 2016 reported the school to be GOOD in all areas. The report praised the school for its GOOD outcomes, leadership, behaviour of the children and the wonderful opportunities given to the children which result in high achieving, well-rounded individuals. In 2018, our school our proud to be in the top 5% of all schools nationally for progress in Reading, Writing and Maths for the 3rd year running. The school is now at and above National expectations for all areas of attainment. Our recent Church Schools inspection graded the school as GOOD in two areas and OUTSTANDING in two areas.
The school is very privileged to have OUTSTANDING facilities including a swimming pool which allows our children to access FREE swimming lessons in every year group in the school, AstroTurf games area, a school allotment, children’s home economics (cooking) room and stimulating learning environments, giving our children opportunities to explore learning in a fun and engaging way.
Our newly designed 'Harmony' curriculum links 7 Principles as a framework for all foundation subjects for deepening their knowledge about God's nature, the food they eat and the world around them.
Visits to the school are warmly welcomed so you can see the learning in action and get a feel for the right school for your child.
