Dear Parents & carers

On behalf of the children, staff, Local Committee and The Good Shepherd Trust, I would like to welcome you to St John’s Church of England Primary School. We hope you find our website clear, informative and easy to navigate. It is designed to give you a flavour of the vibrant life of our school, the work of our pupils and the quality education we strive to deliver.

Our Ofsted Inspection in December 2021 reported the school continued to be GOOD. The report praised the school for its GOOD curriculum, leadership, learning behaviours and the wonderful opportunities given to the children which result in high achieving, well-rounded individuals.  It states that St John's has a big heart and that pupils consistently model the school values.  The school is at and above National expectations for all areas of attainment. Our Church Schools inspection graded the school as GOOD in two areas and OUTSTANDING in two areas.

The school is very privileged to have OUTSTANDING facilities including a swimming pool which allows our children to access FREE swimming lessons in every year group in the school, AstroTurf games area, Jolly John's farm, children’s home economics (cooking) room and stimulating learning environments, giving our children opportunities to explore learning in a fun and engaging way.

Our meaningful 'Harmony' curriculum links 6 Principles as a framework for all foundation subjects for deepening their knowledge about God's nature, the food they eat and the world around them.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed so you can see the learning in action and get a feel for the right school for your child.
