Nurture, Inspire, Flourish
In the name of Jesus, The Good Shepherd.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness. I am the Good Shepherd” John 10:10-11
We commit together to:
-
Building a dynamic safe-haven where adults and children alike work together to strive for excellence not only in academic subjects but also building their resilience through a positive mindset and our holistic, child-centred approach
-
Having a highly connected, flourishing community who are empowered to grow and where everyone is valued and celebrated for their diversity, talents and individuality
-
Serving our community by developing an enriching and exciting social, emotional, spiritual and cultural educational provision; driving high quality learning for all
-
Striving to break down barriers for each and every child to succeed and fulfil their true potential as future global citizens
Our St John's Values
At St John's we nurture, inspire and flourish through our values of Trust, Love, Cooperation, Courage, Resilience and Respect. These are the foundations of our expectations for all our St John's family.
Galatians 5:22 – the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
Trust - Proverbs 3:5 ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart.’
Love - John 4:7‘ Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.’
Cooperation - Ecclesiastes 4:9 - 12 ‘Two are better than one. If either of them falls the other will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.’
Courage - Joshua 1:9 ‘Be strong and show courage, be not afraid or dismayed; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.’
Resilience - Philippians 4:13 ‘I can do all things through him who strengthens me.’
Respect - Luke 6:31 ‘Do to others as you would have them do to you.’
Our St John's Expectations
Christian Distinctiveness
At St John’s C of E Primary School, our Christian vision is to nurture and inspire every child to achieve their potential with the development of the whole child through high standards of social, emotional, academic, creative & physical achievements as future global citizens.. ‘I came so that they could have life – indeed, so that they could live life to the fullest’ John 10:10
This, alongside our Core Christian Values of Trust, Love, Cooperation, Courage, Resilience and Respect, drives all that we do and underpins everyday life in our school, enabling all to flourish.
This was recognised in our latest Ofsted inspection which stated that ‘The school’s Christian ethos allows each child the chance to shine.’ (Nov 2021).
